Hull construction can be of either styrene foam or wood and the detailed full-size plans, with 3D views, show easily how to achieve this with either material. The cabin is made from styrene sheet. The accompanying full construction article was first published in the September 2014 issue of Model Boats and continued in the following two monthly issues and the model is recommended for those enthusiasts looking perhaps for their second more demanding project. Ixplorer : This is a plan drawn by James Pottinger to 1:50 scale is of a modern hydrographic survey vessel, still in service in the 21st Century. Its accompanying article was published in August 2014 Model Boats and that included detail pictures of the full-size vessel. No constructional advice is given on the two sheet of the plan, but there is sufficient information for a model to made as the hull lines and profiles are all included.
