The 4in Mark XIX Gun on CP Mark XXIII Mounting 1943. Ten G/A plus mounting and fitting detail. General arrangement drawing MK. XXIII** Mtg. And details base plate etc., gun trunnion, sights, elevating gear, training gear, housing stop, centre pivot etc. This gun was under development during 1940-41, and with improved steel factors was put into war production. Issued to the fleet in limited numbers and mounted aboard 'Military' class A/S trawlers, 'River and 'Castle' class frigates. Also fitted as a star shell mounting on the 1943 Battle Class Destroyers, but with large orders for both the RAN and RCN.

The 4.5in. 8 Cwt Gun on Mark I and II Mounting with 2in Rocket Flare Launcher. Seven G/A views plus detail of 2in rocket flare, launcher elevating cylinder, recoil cylinder, firing gear, own speed deflection sight, training motor, safety firing gear etc on sheet 'A'. Detail of the Gun, operating mechanism, recoil and run out arrangements sights G/A of Mark II mounting, with diagrammatic layout of the mounting pressure system, are shown on sheet 'B' Sheet 4C' shows three simple G/A and six views of the Mark II Mounting. This weapon system was designed for the Far East War where soft targets predominated, and a large calibre low velocity gun could be filled to Coastal Forces. A trial mounting was filled to ML 570 before hostilities ended, but only limited production was undertaken post war, when the Mark II (manual). Mounting was fitted to a few fast patrol boats.

QFSA 4.7in Calibre Mark IX Gun on CP Mark XIII Mounting –1931. A prototype high angle (600, plus two views of. prototype mounting from Vickers photographs. No BR issued. This little known weapons system has been redrawn from Vickers G/A drawing No.94592 and Vickers photographs of the mounting in the gunshop. A prototype mounting underwent sea trials aboard the Fleet destroyer HMS Bulldog in 1931. Not put into service.

A number of guns were in store and a new high angleflow angle mounting was rapidly designed to utilise the existing guns. The 4in Q. F. Mark V Gun on HIA Mark Ill, III** and IV Mountings 1917-1945. A five sheet subject detailing this high angle weapon in use with the RN. From the 1920s through to the end of W.W II, it was the main armament of many minesweeping sloops, fleet destroyers ('0' an 'P' Classes) and Algerine class fleet minesweepers etc. The main G/A (Sheet C) is redrawn from the mountings fitted to HMS Hood in the early 20s with detail of the fillings from the 1919 gunnery manual, and the later, BR 833 of 1943 which details the improved mountings. Sheet A shows 9 isometric views of various marks of mounting plus a number of differing splinter shields. (17 drawings). Sheet B details parts of the mounting and fittings 1943-45. The 4in BL (Breech Loading) Mark IX Gun on Triple Mark I Mounting – 1916. This triple mounting carried a high velocity gun being an anti-torpedo craft defence aboard the Renown and Repulse. Hand worked and requiring a crew of 32 it was not very satisfactory. Three external views, two general arrangement, the arrangement of the elevating gear, securing gear and three views showing the arrangements for dismounting the guns.
