The development of the WWI pom-pom, this H/A mounting was introduced from 1929 and fitted to destroyer classes building or completing. The lighter and more efficient 20mm Oerlikon gun gradually replaced it..

This mounting was the first potent power operated mounting and filled to warships of MTB size and upward. Additional sheet showing sighting gear, trunnion, fire interrupter gear and the rear firing levers. Sighting gear for mountings fitted with the Mark XVI Gyro gun sight. Elevating cylinders and front firing levers, G/Aof the canvas cover and the armoured blast protection box with fitting details. The Mark II Oerlikon Gun is drawn both with and without the magazine fitted.

The 2 Pdr Mark VIII and Vll* Gun. The 2-pdr close range gun was the RN's answer to the aircraft threat. Designed between the two world wars, this standard gun was utilised in the 8 barrel Mark V and VI mountings, the quad. Mark VII and VII PX and later RP 50, power operated mounting, as well as the single gun, Mark VIII mounting, and the power operated Mark XVI mounting.
This complex weapon consisted of over 400 parts. I have found the relevant manual, and redrawn the gun in considerable detail.
Sheet A shows six external profiles of the Mark VIII* gun plus 4 detail views and 45+ isometric views of component parts.
Sheet B shows an internal side profile and well over 100 isometric drawings of component parts plus the first detail list No's 1-66.
Sheet C shows over 100 component parts plus detail of ammunition used.
Sheet D shows internal working mechanisms and detail views, 24 drawings.
