Jim Wilder Tug

The Jim Wilder No. 2 was named after Jim Wilder, owner of Wilder Tug and Launch, established 1876. She was built in Oakland, CA, her home port was San Francisco and she was launched in 1911. The Jim Wilder was commercially operated for 70 years as a towing and passenger tug. This model was designed from her original blueprints and photos the family and San Francisco Maritime National Historic Park.

* The hull is constructed using an integral building jig to insure a true hull shape and strip planked with balsa strips. * Micro-Cut Quality Balsa, Basswood, & Mahogany * All necessary fittings including photo-etched brass components, die cast-fittings, brass portholes & railings, acetate windows, water slide decals and more! * Running hardware set includes stainless steel prop shaft, brass stuffing tube with bronze bushings, molded nylon 4-bladed propeller, and brass motor / shaft coupler * Special High Torque electric motor is also included! * All necessary steering linkage * Lightweight fiberglass cloth for added hull protection
